Pasties and Snickers bars no more!

After gaining 2.5kgs over the course of the symposium, it was time to review my nutritional training program for the impending 900 mile bike ride. I had the opportunity at symposium of quizzing Cat Berge (2005 Female cycle endurance winner) on cycling nutrition; so I have ditched the cheese & onion pasties and snickers bars in favour energy drinks and specific energy bars! What a difference these have made, as I managed to get 2 back to back 30+ mile rides in over the bank holiday weekend. The first serious climb up Cothelstone Hill; sweated all the symposium activities out of my system and then it got easier and easier with each turn of the pedals after that.

Looking forward to putting some serious miles in over the next 4 weeks.
