A 60 miler bringing out the worst and best of the UK motorist; we may delay their journey by 1-2 minutes however that’s no excuse to try and shorten my life by 40 years (must get insured before the big ride)! Headed out on Easter Monday with my friend Dan. Out towards the north Somerset coast; turn left at Dunster castle and headed  up towards Dunkery Beacon, the highest point in Somerset. After a 1200ft climb we were rewarded with magnificent views and burning legs. Headed down hill towards Bampton and then another climb with magnificent views across the Taunton Vale; stopped to repair a puncture in Dan’s news tyres and then a blast back to home. I think I have found out my training nutrition programme; Bananas, snickers and Cheese and Onion Cornish pasties; loverly.
